Unattended Children Policy

Your library card will give you “super powers” to find info fast. Use it to help with homework and other school projects, and also to find fun stuff to read (magazines, newspapers, books), listen to (tapes, CD’s), and watch (videos, DVD’s).

Remember to bring your library card with you when you visit!

Wonderful Ones

for children aged 12 to 23 months. Lapsit program with stories, finger games, songs & activities; approximately 45 minutes.

Time for Twos

or children aged 24 to 35 months. Shared stories, finger games and musical activities; about 45 minutes

Thrilling Threes

for children aged 36 to 47 months. Children sit in a group to hear stories & do a simple craft; about an hour.

Fun for Fours and Fives

for 48 months and up. Group listening to stories & a more involved craft; about an hour.

• All programs are by registration only. Hamden residents only are taken the first day of registration.
• All programs are five-week sessions that meet once a week at 10:15 for 45 minutes to an hour during the school year.
• The child must be the age indicated by the registration date.
• Parent/caregiver is required to stay with the child during story time, except for the parents of four and five year olds who must stay in the library.
