Hamden Art League

The Hamden Arts Legue provides an organization for artists, art students, and art patrons for the growth of artistic potential through demonstrations, instruction, and individual and group exhibitions.

Benefits in the Hamden Art League include opportunities to show your work in the annual Spring Golden Bells Exhibition, the Winter Silver Bells Exhibition, and additional shows that occur in our area throughout the year.

Hamden Department of Arts, Recreation & Culture

The Department of Arts, Recreation & Culture (ARC), working in close cooperation with the Hamden Departments of Community Services, Arts Commission and other town agencies and volunteer groups develop and maintain a slate of recreational and cultural opportunities for Hamden residents. Members of the ARC staff maintain active memberships in statewide, regional and national associations and obtain the most up to date information and strategies for the delivery of recreational and cultural services to all town residents.

Keefe Center

Located at the M.L. Keefe Community Center in the heart of southern Hamden, Community Services has a staff of five full-time employees. In addition to Town funding, Community Services received a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which allows the department to assist residents in avoiding evictions, foreclosures and utility service interruptions.

P.L.A.C.E Multicultural Children's Museum and Creative Arts Center

The Museum and Art Center offer visitors an opportunity to celebrate individual and cultural differences through participation in unique programs, interactive exhibits and hands-on workshops. P.L.A.C.E. also sponsors an Annual Multicultural Festival.

Paier College of Art

Modeled after the traditional art schools at the turn of the century, the Paier College of Art offers students the unique opportunity to learn their respective disciplines under the tutelage of seasoned professionals. By teaching timeless artistic fundamentals, students are empowered to produce work utilizing traditional or digital methods.

Sleeping Giant Poets Guild

Connecticut is rich with poetry – poets, open mics, feature events and workshops occur all across the state.
