Reserve/Renew Online
Using our online catalog, you can search for books and other library materials, renew your library materials , and place your own reserves for items not on the shelf. Also, you may look at your own library account to see items you have checked out and to view your reserves, overdues, and fines.
Logging Into Your Account
Click "Login to My Account " link on the left hand
side of the page, under the catalog search box. You will be asked to
enter your library card barcode number and a PIN(use the last 4 digits
of your telephone number). After you enter your barcode number, click
the "My Account" tab for an overview of the items you have checked out,
all reserves you have placed, and any outstanding blocks or fines on
your record. You may also view your profile to verify that the library
has your correct contact information.
Renewing Items
After logging into your account (see instructions
above), click the "Items Out" link. A list of all the items charged out
to you will appear. Check the boxes in front of the titles you wish to
renew, then click the "Renew" button. A new due date will appear after
each title. Not all materials have the same loan periods, so be sure to
verify the due date of each item. If the due date does not change, the
item has not been renewed. Items renewed after midnight on the original
due date will be considered overdue and charged a fine. It is the
patron's responsibility to make sure that all materials have been renewed
properly, so you may wish to print a copy of the renewal page for your
records. Call the library at 287-2682 if you are having difficulties
renewing online.
Museum passes, items on reserve for other patrons, interlibrary loans, and magazines cannot be renewed.
Reserving an Item
After logging into your account (see instructions
above), click the "Advanced Search" tab. You have a variety of search
options, such as title, author, subject or series. You can also limit
your search to a particular format, like audiobook, large print, etc.
After you locate the item, look for its status. If an item is listed as
"Checked Out," you may click the "Request Item" link to place a
reserve. Select the library branch where you wish to pick up the item
and click "Request." You can go to "My Account" and click the "Holds"
link to verify that the hold has been placed and to see your position
in the reserves list. Do not place a reserve on an item listed as
"Checked In." If you would like the library to hold an item that is
currently on the shelf, contact your local branch. Videos and
DVDs cannot be reserved. The library holds an item for two days after
notifying patrons of its arrival.
Suspending a Reserve
If you expect to be away from home for some time while
you are waiting for a reserved item to come in, you may suspend your
request until you come back. Login to your account and click on the
link for "Holds Requests." Check the box next to the items you
wish to suspend. Select a return date from the date option boxes and
click "Change status." The status of your request should change
to "Suspended." You may also use this option if you have multiple
requests and do not want them to come in all at once.
