Connecticut Open House Day takes place Saturday, June 8, 2013. Various museums and historic sites throughout Connecticut offer discounted or free admission, free gifts or special exhibits and activities.

The New Britain Museum of American Art has a new exhibition on: "The Brilliance of Louis Comfort Tiffany: Painter and Craftsman", May 24–Sept. 29, 2013. If you are a Hamden resident with a valid Hamden Library card, you can check out a museum pass at the info desk at Miller Library which offers free admission for four. On display are 100 paintings by Louis Comfort Tiffany, large stained glass windows, metal and glass objects, furniture and other decorative objects. We just added several new museum passes to our collection, due to generous funding from the Friends of the Hamden Library. If you are a Hamden resident with a valid Hamden library card, you can now check out passes to Mystic Seaport in Mystic, CT and the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, Rhode Island. We also added a third pass to the Peabody Museum in New Haven, and two additional Connecticut State Parks passes. For more information:
The Connecticut Science Center in Hartford opened in June 2009. It offers 150 interactive exhibits, 3D movies, live science, a gift shop, a cafe and more. Daily activities include Story Time and Talks and Tours. For more information on the Connecticut Science Center click here or call 860-724-3623.
