If you are a Hamden resident, all you need to do is sign up for a card at the Circulation Desk, located on the Main Level of the Miller Memorial Central Library. You must present identification verifying that you are a Hamden resident.
If you are a Connecticut resident, but do NOT live in Hamden, you need to bring a current library card from your hometown library, plus a driver's license showing your current address. With these you may register for borrowing privileges at the Circulation Desk at any Hamden Public Library location. Any questions? Please call (203) 287-2682.
If you lose your card, you can purchase a replacement for a lost card at the Circulation Desk. The replacement cost is $3.00
Hamden residents may use their valid current Hamden library card to check out items at any public library in the State of Connecticut.
You may check your patron record on our web site. Click on 'catalog' at the top of the screen. Then, click on 'patron information'. It will then ask you to submit the barcode number off of your library card. For Hamden residents, that barcode number begins with '21200'. After you have entered your barcode number, click on the 'submit' button. The menu on the left will allow you to: look at the list of items that you currently have checked out, check for any blocks or fines you may have, or see where you are on the hold list for an item.
Note: Renewals are not permitted for materials on hold for someone else.
