Connecticut Driver’s License Information

Renewal: If your valid Connecticut Driver’s License expired between March 10, 2020 and June 30, 2020, it will automatically be renewed for 180 days.
If your license expired between July 1, 2020 and July 31, 2020 it will automatically be renewed for 90 days.
If you license expires between August 1, 2020 and September 30, 2020 it will automatically be renewed for 90 days.
All late fees for expired licenses will be waived during the extension period.
If you moved from another state to Connecticut after March 10, 2020 you have
180 days to obtain a Connecticut License.
You do not need to obtain an Adult Learner’s Permit.

If you are applying for a Driver’s License for the first time, you must obtain a
Learner’s Permit.
