Tax Filing Deadline July 15th

The extended deadline to file and pay your State and Federal taxes is July 15th, one week from today.

The Library has a limited number of state and federal 1040 forms, as well as Instruction booklets for the Federal 1040 forms. We do not have any instruction booklets for the CT 1040.
Physical Copies of Tax forms can be picked up in the Foyer in front of Thornton Wilder Hall during the Library’s curbside pickup hours.
Curbside Pickup Hours are: Monday – Wednesday 10 AM – 1 PM & 2 PM – 7 PM and Thursday & Friday 10 AM – 1 PM & 2 PM – 5 PM.

The Federal 1040-A and 1040-EZ forms no longer exist.

Hamden Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Hamden High VITA sites are closed for the year and the program is now operating remotely.

to go to a secure, encrypted, IRS-approved web page for low to moderate income taxpayers. From there, you’ll simply:
*answer a short set of questions
*take pictures of your tax documents on your phone
*upload those photos onto the site.
Hamden Vita will prepare your taxes and schedule a time to talk them through with you!
