“This Tender Land” Book Discussion

“This Tender Land” was originally meant as a sequel to Kruger’s award winning “Ordinary Grace,” but the author did not like the outcome and so decided to write a completely different novel. In the “New York Journal of Books” C.C. Harrison writes, “This Tender Land is a heartfelt, true to life Depression-era story filled with courage, determination, and heroism. This Tender Land, is a book you won’t own. It will own you. Long, sprawling, and utterly captivating, readers will eat up every delicious word of it.” Joe Hartlaub in “Bookreporter” states, “… not quite the book that William Kent Krueger’s fans expected, but it’s hard to imagine a better one … a story that will stay with you long after you read the last page.”
