On Wednesday, December 16th at 1pm(EST) Project Drawdown will host a webinar titled “Drawdown 101 – An Introduction to the Science of Climate Solutions.”
Founded in 2014, Project Drawdown is a nonprofit organization that seeks to help the world reach “Drawdown”— the future point in time when levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere stop climbing and start to steadily decline. Today, they are widely considered to be the world’s leading resource on climate solutions.
Drawdown solutions range from large-scale global industrial practices (electricity production, transportation, and land-use) to our own individual lifestyle choices(food waste, diets, and family planning). The solutions are ranked by how many giga-tons of CO2 are reduced or sequestered from 2020-2050. The relative importance of a given solution can differ significantly depending on context and particular ecological, economic, political, or social conditions.
